‘Our Lagos Your Lagos’ group fetes destitutes at Eid-El Kabir
In celebration of the Eid El Kabir, a group, ‘Our Lagos Your Lagos’,
deemed it fit to extend a hand of fellowship to destitutes and less
privileged persons in Ebute Metta area of Lagos State.
Some officials of the group, led by its Convener, Idris Aregbe, stormed the Destitutes Home at Okobaba Street, Ebute Metta, with food items and cash gifts to put a smile on the faces of the hundreds of destitutes who live in the Home.

Aregbe
said the gesture was in line with the commitment of Governor Akinwunmi
Ambode’s mantra of all inclusive government and to show that everyone in
Lagos regardless of ethnicity or creed is important.
He said the gesture was also crucial at this time when the nation was
going through economic recession which has made it difficult for some
families to fend for themselves.
“We realised that these destitutes are at the mercy of good Samaritans, except that, they would have no means of feeding. So, we thought it good to reach out to them and put a smile on their faces. This is the essence of the season of the Eid-el-Kabir, which is sacrifice and love. For us, doing this gives us much joy and the smile on their faces is our reward for this gesture,” Aregbe said.More photos below...
